(TREND REPORT)

FALLLLLL is so so so close and I literally cannot wait! Pre-Fall collections from DVF, Proenza, 3.1 Philip Lim and Rag + Bone show us some of the trends we can expect! Namely very boy-inspired cuts, lower cuts, baggier pant legs, cropped tops, over-sized coats and longer legs! What do you guys think? Excited for fall?

The bess.

Posted on: Wednesday, July 18, 2012

Bess is a truly gothic inspired lil fashion house in NYC. Forever inspired by shredded silk, industrial metal, dusty lace, and worn-out leather, a trip to BESS in New York City is a journey from the 19th century romantic to the post-punk to goth-grunge BESS experience.

Dark Florals.

Posted on: Monday, July 16, 2012

Florals are everywhere for Summer but as Fall approaches the mix of darker florals or florals and black contrast seem to be cropping up! The look is a fresh approach to transitioning into Fall colors and tones. Love!

Sneak Attack.

File this under the same category as drop crotch... people either love it or hate it and much like the drop crotch trend I love this! As a girl who seeks both height and comfort, heeled sneakers is something I Can get behind. That being said, they must be of a certain caliber of style and aesthetic like the ones above, we aren't talking rainbow Brite dunks. Am I right? or oh so wrong? You tell me!

Overalls once banished to the island of 12 year old girls and pregnant women are back! I really love the overalls look when worn casually (as pictured) they can be a major win.

Neon moved from bags to jewelry and I have to admit I love this trend. As someone who wears black and chambray far too much this is the perfect way to take any ho hum outfit and turn it into a conversation piece.

Neon + Ombre + Summer whites, it's the ultimate trend mashup. Pants by ASOS.

Radarte.

Posted on: Monday, April 23, 2012

Forget the ironic tee, it's all about the lightweight sweatshirt. Once banished to the gym or yoga class the lightweight sweatshirt is making a comeback for Spring. I totally love this Opening Ceremony Rodarte, Radarte sweatshirt. Paired with a floral mini, pleated maxi, or just jeans this is a good go to look!

You guys. I mean you guys, these are like made for me right? OMBRE TIGHTS? There are no words. I need all of these right now. $30 on Etsy. AHHHHHHH.

Stripe it up.

Posted on: Tuesday, February 28, 2012

What's easier to throw on than a striped dress? Nothing. Stripes have been in since the 90s. They are classic, look great on everyone, and are instantly chic. The black and white dress I am pictured wearing from the GAP is under $60 has a great cut and is extremely well made (esp. for the Gap!)... Get on board matey!

TREND ALERT KIDS! We all know maxis had (and are having) a major moment but it seems the next step in the maxi-universe is the sheer trend! Obviously blocking out all the important bits, but these sheer skirts are the perfect Winter/Spring transitional piece!

I'm wearing a neon shirt by H&M, belt by H & M "Girl with the dragon tattoo collection", Topshop Egyptian Necklace (SOLD OUT), and T by Alexander Wang Maxi.

The maxis pictured are from forever 21 {Polka Dot, Beige Print, Black Pointelle} Proving you don't need to blow your paycheck on this trend!

Pattern Play

Posted on: Sunday, January 29, 2012

The whole concept of pattern play is all over the glossies, polka dots with floral, stripes with paisley etc. etc. This weekend I paired my navajo-inspired maxi skirt from Forever 21 with my newly purchased Michael Kors (reversible!) Leopard belt with gold detailing. What do you guys think?

Things to Try.

Posted on: Wednesday, January 4, 2012

The New Year means trying new things. A few things on my list include mixing and matching plaids, getting a little cray cray with flats (studded sneakers!), and lastly channeling my inner bad girl. Not that being nice is over-rated but er'y now and than it's good to be a little bad.
