Dinner Parties are for Suckers.

Posted on: Wednesday, July 27, 2011

Dinner parties are for suckers. All those dishes, all those people allergic to nuts and salt and whatever, it's not worth it. So I say let's skip the main dish and head straight for the good stuff. The Cocktails + The desserts. The first step to throwing a successful C + D party is. Go mass! Create one signature cocktail that is simple and easy and put that in an awesome bev dispenser (but make sure to have beer and wine on hand as well) then by a tiered cake stand, the higher the better, and pile up a (home-made if you feel up to it) or pre-home-made-by-pastry-chef array of colorful cupcakes and voila you're done! Make sure you have plenty of ice, a killer play list, and acandelabra for dramatic effect! Oh and have loads of fun!

Sometimes I wonder if I will be a renter for life, moving from apartment to apartment form fitting ikea products to certain nooks and crannies. Then I see pictures like these and I get all excited about the 'potentialality or potentialness*' of possibly one day in the future living in a home that I can design from head to toe. Get a whole lot of inspiration and jealous urges over at living agency.

Part 1: Simple Home Ideas

Since I recently moved into my new apartment (I promise I will post pictures soon), I have been in full on decor mode. As a busy girl, I tend to sway towards the easy, functional and totally adorable as far as looking for design pieces. Above are two different concepts I have added to my apartment recently! The wooly pockets are adorable and easy for those of us who are not so adept in gardening. And the ikea frame ($29.99) feels super cheap-it's literally a thin mold of plastic but when hung up looks super glam and gets loads of compliments!
