Summer Playlist #2

Some sounds for summer! Enjoy!

Jam.

So So Good.

You be the shining.

I've been on board with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros since day one. I just feel like in the clusterfuck of dub step and pitbull songs that are thrown at us it's nice to hear a good ol' fashioned love song. That's whats up.

Crave You.

Flight Facilities - Crave you Feat. Giselle [Official Video] from Flight Facilities on Vimeo.

That's my jam. Flight Facilities "crave you" via future hubs Matty Wood.

The Download.

Wicked Games (The Weeknd Cover)- Coeur de Pirate by brycoolviva Naturally by Future People Cannot stop playing these songs. Winter Jams sesh! Download them both at Soundcloud!

Lonely Boy (New Black Keys)

They done done it again! New Black Keys song "Lonely Boy" off their upcoming December album.

B A L A N C E.

Future Islands "Balance" by SmilingEars It's been a hot minute since I did a music post. This track "Balance" by FUTURE ISLANDS is pretty epic. Perfect for PCH windows down driving on a Sunday Afternoon. Download over at SoundCloud.

You Remind me of a Train Ride.

I posted about the Big Ugly Yellow Couch a while back and I am happy to say they are still at it! Just peeped their vimeo and found this gem "Whale" by Yellow Ostrich which is just as beautiful live as it is on record. The track above "Collar Bones" by North Highlands is hauntingly beautiful and romantic (best to be listened in a forest) and that girls voice is UNREAL!

You Keep Me Under Your Spell

DESIRE / UNDER YOUR SPELL by ITALIANS DO IT BETTER For those of you who are fans of ze Gosling you may or may not have caught his new film DRIVE. I saw it Friday night and well, ummm, he definitely sheds his good guy Notebook skin for this film. If unnecessary violence isn't your thing you might want to skip this flick but I will say you should absolutely not skip out on the soundtrack it is AM-AZ-ING. This track in particular caught my attention, 80s techno at it's finest. Enjoy!

Gardens + Villa

Santa Barbara Band, Gardens + Villas, are a pop, synthy, flute-using band that are on repeat on my ipod. Buy their album for $3 here.

Hits me like a rock.

CSS - Hits Me Like A Rock by Posh Magazine
Can't get this song of repeat thanks to Chelsea Matthews! Enjoy!

Dad Music.

Not to get all DAD on you but, they DO NOT make music like this anymore. This song is amazing story archs, character shifts, psychedelic rock goodness. Happy Tuesday!

Hurting.

This jam by Friendly Fires has been on repeat! Enjoy!

Midnight City.

Midnight City by M83
M83 just released their first single of their album, MIDNIGHT CITY, which is free to download :). The song is a synthy, dancey, awesome track to be played only at high volumes. Enjoy.

Beat and the Pulse.

The beat + the pulse, by Austra, has been my jammy jam as of late. It even sounds good in my craptastic Prius's soundsystem. Get the MP3 over at PITCHFORK!
