Yes, LA is having it's shiny moment in the spotlight as a cinema darling. I am pretty psyched to see this mostly because it's a New Yorkers perspective on LA (ahem familllliar). Also it is scored by James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem. WORD.

Kickstarter DOT com: A fundraising site for your idea, film, project, business, whatever. You sent goals, offer incentives, and track your results. The projects are super cool from a low budget wedding chapel in the lower east side( Pledgers of $100 got a free 1 hour slot) to a road trip adventure. I am currently racking my brain for something to pitch.


Feast @ NBC DOT com Another foodie site. The site uses a ranking system using an algorithm based on reviews from all over the web—from the Times reviews to bloggers spits out a number, ranking every restaurant in the city anywhere from Dicey to Epic. Rankings change daily based on current news, reviews, etc. It's brand spanking new and needs a few tweaks but I think it will be a heavy hitter among the YELPS and ZAGATS of the world.
