Found this website LX. TV focusing on different cultural artistic and fun going-ons in NYC and LA. The clips are short but fun and their interview with JOSSIP is great as well. They have clips on food, nightlife, art, shopping, fashion, wellness, weekend escapes and family living. And it's no pay for play which is refreshing

DVF, world-renowned designer, and one of my favorites of all time. But we all make mistakes take for instance this white lady bug situation... looks like something one could find at strawberry's or Talbots... now the other dress with the nice graphic print works well fun but classy!

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Love the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and I wish I could scream like Karen O/ pull off her sense of style. Their new songs are up on their myspace page....be sure to check out "TURN INTO" a great new song from the band... Also be sure to listen to MAPS (old I know) but brilliant none the less.

TREEHUGGER
A great site for news on environmentalism for the eco-savvy activist. We all get busy and tend to forget about the world around us and it is site's like Treehugger that bring me back down the earth. Anyway they are looking for writers it is a great way to get paid for doing some good and keeping your karma up.

This article on sirens mag answers the age old question, is bigger really better? And apparently the answer is a resounding yes. Very reminiscent of the "Goldi-Cocks" episode on Sex and the City, "I want one just right."

For anyone who has ever walked into an open house when they aren't looking for an apartment, tried to peer into someone's apartment window in a non-creepy way, or for anyone who is dying to ask how much you pay in rent....This is for you, enjoy!

My favorite kind of photography tends to be of everyday people. In the vain of Diane Arbus who I admire very much. If you aren't familiar with her work you should certainly check it out. I found this new photographer profiled on Dazed Digital
named Erin Barry and I totally love her stuff perhaps a Diane Arbus for the Mod crowd? Check her website/flickr http://www.erinbarry.co.uk/

I'm not a knitter, I'm not even really domestic but this is for a great cause. This company
gaia is using art as a way to make change. ...
"_gaia was founded in 2002 by Doris Cacoilo and Amie Figueredo. Long time friends and activists, they brought together a group of women to begin organizing around women's issues, activism and supporting local artists. _gaia has grown to have a long list of accomplished programs and events as well as a large group of supporters, artists and volunteers. _gaia's mission remains as a collective of women, for women, for the making of textiles, clothing, printmaking, painting, architecture, music, film, photography, science, the performing arts, writing, environmental, social and political activism: all things which color the lives of the women involved. We actively promote and support the work of local women artists while developing programming to reach out to and help emerging artists in need of studio space, facilities and resources. In our pursuit of awareness we also concentrate on activism, from issues in the local community to global issues affecting the lives of women."

The generification continues in new york with the closing of condomania in the west village. This is a sad sad day only because piece by piece New York's charming and quirky boutiques are falling prey to high rents.

"Music is your own experience, your thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn."
-Charlie Parker

The new Mark Ronson song "STOP ME" has been my new go-to song on my iPod, it's a bit old school and new school electro. The lyrics rock as well "Who says I like to hurt?" Check it out.

Mark Ronson - Stop me.

live & learn

"Live as if your were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever."
I feel like sometimes.... it's hard to keep in mind life is short and that we often self-protect walk the line carefully being sure not to step off it. but what is life if not a time to hurt? a time to learn from problems, fights, and people?

what.

Mostly stories, philosophical musings, some images, appreciated art, poetry, life questions, new york city, and me.

why.

because life gets complicated, hilarious, and interesting ( and uninteresting) and sometimes we just need a place to vent, laugh, and share.

who.

I'm a twenty something hippie-ish girly girl with a dark cynical side living in the east village. I tend to view life in the vain of " everything happens for a reason" and "live everyday as if it was your last" ... positivity is fleeting and I am grasping it while I can.
